Join Us in Our Mission to Provide Nutritious Vegetables to Southington Residents through the LEAF's CSA Programs
The LEAF's CSA Giveback Program directly addresses food insecurity in Southington by providing fresh, locally grown, nutritious vegetables to residents who need extra help. The program operates through community support: individuals can make monetary donations specifically for this initiative, which the LEAF farm then uses to provide CSA Shares. These families, identified in partnership with Southington Community Services and Bread For Life, receive a weekly share of the harvest throughout the growing season, ensuring they have consistent access to healthy produce they might not otherwise be able to afford. Additionally, any standard CSA shares that are not picked up by members are also donated to those in the community, ensuring nothing goes to waste and maximizing the program's impact on local nutrition and health.
